The subway freaks me out.
It's stressful and I don't hear very well so the announcements they make about what stop is coming up went completely past me.
I figured out that instead of listening in panic mode for the name of our stop to come up I could just count the number of stops until ours.
Complete meltdown avoided.
Note to self:
Adapter only has two prongs. Computer has three. We have no way to charge the computer.
Must make 3rd trip to World Cup Stadium to buy USB cord. We'll have to piggy back off of the phone.
Stickers for the Kids. And Porroro bubbles. LOVE that penguin!
Random wanderings in Insadong. By the way, nothing opens up until about 11. We were there wandering at about 9. We would have been even earlier if we would have caught the bus we were trying for. Missed about 3 busses trying to get to the right spot at the right time. There we were, waiting at the stop, at the right time. Bus comes and goes....across the street. DOH!
Guy fishing in his truck. When they say the fish is fresh in these restaurants they aren't lying!
Bought the celedon tea set here.
Note to other would be shoppers. Make sure you are actually buying stuff from Korea. It's kinda lame and a bit disappointing to get home to see "made in China" stamped on the bottom of your stuff. When we went to Europe right after high school I bought this silk scarf in Venice from a little street vendor. So pretty. Made in China. DOH! This time we were very careful.
Here we see the old bell tower. This bell used to be rung when the city was opening or closing. Really neat to see it crammed right in alongside all of the modern buildings.
Once again you would have to have a screw loose to drive here. Our last taxi of the day the driver added to the crazy by watching some show while driving. Not sure what the show was about but during the 7 min drive they caught a fish, boiled it, talked about it being tasty, caught another fish, boiled it, ate it talked about it being tasty, caught a octopus, boiled it, ate it, talked about it being tasty. Hmmm noticing a trend. The taxi driver then gave up trying to find the DMC ville and booted us out (thankfully only about two blocks away.) No one knows, even with the map on the card we give them, what in the world we are talking about when we tell them the name of this place!
Battery is about dead. Must find USB cord!!
Probably too late for this advice, but we had that issue with the adapter, we took it apart and cut out a hole where the third prong should be, there was kind of indentation where it was so we guessed we could do it. It worked!
ReplyDeleteOh what an adventure!! Sounds like a crazy and fun time.
